Sandringham Estate and Country Park Stately Homes in Sandringham, Norfolk, England

Much loved Norfolk retreat of HM The Queen

Sandringham is the much-loved country retreat of Her Majesty the Queen, and has been the private home of four generations of British monarchs.  The house is perhaps the most famous stately home in Norfolk - and certainly one of the most beautiful.  Set in the 60-acre gardens which have been called "the finest of the Royal gardens", with a fascinating museum of Royal vehicles and mementoes, the principal ground floor apartments with their collections of porcelain, jade, furniture and family portraits are open to the public from Easter to October.

The Visitor Centre is the first port of call for most visitors to Sandringham, set at the edge of the 600-acre woodland Country Park.  The Gift Shop offers all sorts of unique and unusual British-made gifts and quality local foods; next door are the Plant Centre stocked with produce from the Sandringham greenhouses, and the Restaurant, serving delicious home-made lunches, snacks and hot and cold drinks, with special facilities available for pre-booked groups.

There is no admission charge for the Visitor Centre and it's open all year, so it makes an ideal stopping-off point if you are on holiday in the area, or travelling perhaps to the coast to enjoy North Norfolk's glorious sandy beaches or the world-renowned Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the birdwatching there.  Private and corporate dinners, meetings, receptions and celebrations of all kinds can also be arranged at the Restaurant, with our team of experienced caterers on hand to help with every aspect of organising your event.

Neither a palace nor a castle, Sandringham is a country house with an atmosphere of welcome;
whether you have all day to spend here or just a few hours, you are sure to discover a real taste of Norfolk hospitality.
