Bishop’s Palace originally dates back to the 12th century but has since been much altered. Different owners throughout the years have added towers and the Earl of Orkney between 1600 and 1607 even built an adjacent Palace (Earl’s Palace). Bishop’s Palace is situated close to the cathedral and now stands as a shell of the main building and a round tower.
