Locals call Chambre d'amour beach "the Club"
The beaches from the cliff to the north is VVF, Club, Piscine and Sables d'Or after it is Marinella, Madrague, Ocean, Les Dunes, Les Cavaliers and La Barre
International surfing events take place along this coast, so some good tubes.
From Les Cavaliers' barrels at the north end to VVF at the south end and all the various peaks in between, Anglet is one of the most reliable spots in Southwest France. It’s not usually as big as Hossegor but it's also not as wind sensitive. For a NW wind Les Cavaliers and for a SW VVF.
The locals tend to be expert surfers, but it's suitable for beginners too.
In the summer the beaches are very busy so get there early. Beach guards during high season, but keep within marked areas and don't let children wander into surfer only areas.
Shops offer bodyboards and surfboards to buy or hire. At Chambre d'Amour there may be entertainment near/on the beach aimed mainly at teens to twenties.
Plenty surf schools in the area.
There are also bars/restaurants close to the beach.
