Dalby Forest, also known as the Great Yorkshire Forest, is located just North of the village of Thornton-le-Dale, on the south slopes of the North Yorkshire National Park. The South side is composed of undulating 'Rigg and Dale' valleys carved in the Ice Age, while the North side sits on the upland plateau.
Comprising over eight thousand acres of varied and idyllic woodland, abundant wildlife such as badgers and roe deer, as well as pictureque forest trails and cycling tracks, Dalby Forest provides a year-round escape in the heart of North Yorkshire, suitable for everyone from wildlife lovers to cycling enthusiasts.
