Holehird gardens are managed by the Lakeland Horticultural Society, and are maintained by its members. It is situated in the Holehird Estate, which is administered by Cumbria County Council.
The gardens are situated in a wonderful elevated position in Troutbeck above Windermere, with fantastic views across the valley to the lake.
The ten acre hillside gardens at Holehird include a great variety of planting - specimen trees and shrubs, extensive rock and heather gardens, a walled garden, alpine houses and herbaceous borders. There are also national collections of Astilbe
Please note that the house itself is a Leonard Cheshire home (not open to the public)
