visit to Kilmartin House Museum starts off with an intense audio-visual experience. Lasting 15 minutes, the presentation is designed to give a feeling for the power and beauty of the landscape of Mid Argyll and the layers of history and the memories that lie within it.
You can then visit permanent award winning exhibition, which along with extensive interpretive material contains ancient artefacts from our own collection as well as local archaeological objects on loan from other Museums. You can also try out a range of hands-on activities – including popular quern stones and stone axe polisher!
Equipped with an understanding of the generations of people who have shaped this land over the last 8,000 years, you can go out into the landscape and explore some of the sites and monuments they left behind.
Celebrating Scotland's homecoming in 2009 there will be many special events.
