From the outside this restaurant may not look very promising, the bar at the front has been painted very purple, but don't let this facade put you off - once inside Madame will guide restaurant guests through a maze of function rooms to the rear dining room which is a different world altogether. White table cloths, sparkling glassware, flowers, candles, and most importantly a menu which is innovative, seasonal and very pleasantly unexpected. The chef takes ordinary vegetables and combines them with herbs and spices to create very welcome amuse-bouche before the meal and sorbets as side dishes during diner. An excellent range of rich meat and game dishes along with lighter grilled fish provide options for all tastes, with sauces that surely deserve several michelin stars.
