Newhailes House is a beautiful house managed by the National Trust of Scotland. There are wonderful early 18th century decorative Rococo interiors and collections inside the house, and outside is a wonderful estate with 18th century designed landscape, woodland walks, open parkland, remains of water-gardens and built features such as a Shell Grotto and Classical Summer-house, unusually built over the Burn. A superb example of James Smith's domestic Palladian Architecture.
