Reginald's Tower in Waterford is one of the most famous landmarks in the city. It is believed to be Europe's oldestmortared stone tower. It was built by the Danish Govenor of Waterford, Reginal MacIvor in 1003AD. It has been used variously as a fortress, prison, a military store, mint, and an air raid shelter. It is currently home to Waterford's Civic and Maritime Museum, whose numerous exhibits include the colourful regalia of the Corporation and a collection of Royal Charters bestowed on Waterford.
