Museum - Open seven days a week 10-5pm (last admission 4.30pm)
Library - Open Tuesdays and Fridays 10-4.30pm, other days by arrangement
A unique collection ranging from artefacts from the Roman occupation of Ambleside to pictures, sketches and watercolours from local artists, including Kurth Schwitter and Beatrix Potter. There is also a library focused on the Lake District, interactive dispalys, workshops, talks and much more. The museum shop sells a wide range of made in Cumbria gifts as well as antique books.
