The Deep presents the story of the world's oceans from the very beginning, taking visitors on a journey from the creation of the solar system, our planet and the oceans which cover its surface through the evolution of the seas and seabeds, to the modern day and issues such as preservation and the future of marine life. With over thirty unique aquatic exhibits, The Deep offers a vast array of marine animals and environments, from the brightly coloured displays of the coral reefs to the murky alien twilight of the world's deepest oceans. All this is presented in Sir Terry Farrell's iconic and dramatic building on the bank of the Humber estuary, using a combination of live exhibits and audiovisual and interactive displays.
In addition to the underwater exhibits, The Deep also allows visitors to dine with the sharks in its award-winning Two Rivers restaurant, serving contemporary a la carte dining with river views. A Two Rivers Café is also open on weekends inside The Deep itself, as well as the Observatory Café on the 3rd floor which offers spectacular views of Humberside, both of which offer a selection of hot and cold options.
