The Lake of Menteith is a Loch on the Flanders Moss situated near Aberfoyle at the small town of the Port of Menteith. The usual name - lake rather than loch - is beleived to be derived from the lowland scots word "laich" meaning "low place".

It is a lovely place to visit offering several attractions that are close by - the Lake Hotel, the Lake Of Menteith Fisheries and the Inchmahome Priory.
