Derwent water is 3 miles long and 1 mile wide. It is located to the south of
Keswick in the heart of the
Lake District. It has four National trust owned islands, and can be explored on foot around the lake shore or on one of the many boat trips on offer.
Derwentwater is also close to the small and picturesque villages of
Borrowdale and
Rosthwaite, which are well worth a visit, if only to sample the excellent pub lunches!
