Gosforth Pottery is a working pottery in an old Cumbrian farmhouse near Wasdale in the Western Lake District.
We have a Pottery shop where you can come and see lots of pots –there’s a great selection of hand-thrown pottery, ceramics, gifts and souvenirs, including our own pots and pictures based on the Lake district views (great for holiday presents).
We make our own pots here in our studio so why not come and ‘have a go and throw a pot’ yourself on the potter’s wheel – just book a lesson and learn a new skill.
Come and enjoy ‘Paint a Pot’ with a great range of plates, mugs, animals shapes and ornaments for you to paint and decorate in your own designs – if you are looking for something to do with the children it’s a fun way to spend an afternoon for everyone young or old!.
Throughout the year we run residential pottery courses for all ages – stay with us for a week or weekend and learn how to throw a pot and make hand thrown pottery in the inspiring and relaxing surroundings of the Lake district.
