Ancient woodland – a rare surviving example of a medieval royal hunting forest. Designated site of special scientific interest and National Nature Reserve, of great historical and ecological importance. Thetrees support a huge variety of wildlife. There are miles of excellent walks and nature trails. Fishing is available on the lake.
