Hawkshead Brewery – a magnet for real ale and food lovers.
Hawkshead Brewery has been brewing “traditional beers with a modern twist” in the English Lake District since 2002 and at its present site in Staveley, Cumbria since 2006. It is one of the new wave of independent breweries which have revitalised British beer.
The Beer Hall at Hawkshead Brewery, “a showcase for real ale” is open to the public following significant investment and has dramatic viewing galleries that allow visitors to watch the brewery at work whilst sampling the beers.
The Beer Hall is also home to the Beer Kitchen where mouth watering ‘beer tapas’ and main meals are lovingly produced by consultant chef, Steven Doherty and head chef Kester Marsh. Bottled beers from around the world (including modern British beers) are on sale from a temperature controlled speciality beer shop. Gift vouchers and merchandise such as t-shirts are also available for purchase.
Private functions can be hosted at the Brewery, either in the Beer Hall or the original River Bar – tours of the Brewery are also available along with tutored tasting sessions.
The brewery holds two beer festivals a year, one in the spring and one in the summer. There is also regular live music at The Beer Hall.
