This charming 17th century farmhouse was once owned by Beatrix Potter, who bequeated it to the National Trust, who have preserved it as it was when she lived there. All her treasured furniture, china and cottage garden remain as she left them. The farm provided Beatrix Potter with inspiration for many of her books.
Featured in the recent Beatrix Potter film this is an immensley popular tourist attraction in the Lake District. So much so that there is now a timed entry system is in operation to avoid overcrowding.
