The River Lie divides the commune of Plessala from Loudeac Forest. There are many well marked walks beside the river and La Roche aux Cerfs is an especially tranquil place to appreciate the natural beauty of this area. There is now a safe foot-bridge over the river, but it is more fun to use the stepping stones to cross from one bank to the other, these have been here since the middle ages. It is said that deer still drink at this part of the river and move in and out of the forest here. After a long, hot day come here to cool off, watch the water flow past and appreciate the calm. The original water mill and hamlet bread oven had fallen into disrepair and was gradually disappearing beneath the undergrowth, these have now been adopted by the commune and are being carefully restored. They will enhance the feeling of stepping back in time that this peaceful beauty spot gives.
