"Specialites Traditionelles et Medievales" - it says this on their card, and this is what you get. Although they do offer a menu du jour and there is a small bar at the entrance, this is really a place to go for a celebration and to let your hair down. Have a night out, they will provide silly hats and velvet capes if you want them, then you should choose the from selection of medieval aperitifs and enjoy the atmosphere. The food is generally of a good standard with the emphasis on local pork, chicken and fish grilled, stewed or baked with a variety of interesting sauces. The puddings are both naughty and beautiful to look at. The house wine is bottled rather than decanted into a carafe and good value - the owners know their stuff.
