The Malham Tarn Estate offers stunning scenery of rolling hills, cliffs and 'limestone pavements' , and contains England's highest freshwater lake. It provided the inspiration for 'The Water Babies' by Charles Kingsley. There is also an important wetlands nature reserve with viewing hides, and an interesting exhibition on farming in the Dales.
