The Pic du Midi has been listed as
a natural national site since 2003 due to the splendour of its landscapes. It is also a working observatory which specialises in studies of the sun.

Due to the high altitude, the site is not recommended for anyone with a heart condition, pregnant women, or children under the age of 3.
