Runnymede, Old Windsor Historic Buildings and Monuments

Riverside site of the sealing of Magna Carta. There is a Magna Carta Memorial erected by American Bar Association. There are also tranquil memorials to John F. Kennedy and the Commonwealth Air Force. All this is situated in an attractive Thames-side setting of meadows and broadleaved woodland. There are Lutyens-designed Fairhaven Lodges and Kiosks. In addition there is the important archaeological site of Ankerwycke: the remains of a 12th-century priory, as well as the magnificent Ankerwycke Yew, believed to be more than 2,000 years old
