Aldeburgh cottage is a beautifully restored seaside holiday cottage that successfully combines contemporary luxury with period features. Light and airy throughout, it is clutter and chintz free, apart from Morris, the friendly painted wooden seagull you'll find above the fire place.
The front door leads into the delightful living room with a leather sofa and easy chairs, old floor tiles, sash window, natural fibre rug and an open fire. Next door, the kitchen/dining room comes complete with a Smeg range cooker, butler sink, handmade units, a pine table and a charming old Suffolk brick floor.
Beyond is a lobby leading to a family bathroom with large double-ended bath (great for relaxing in with a glass of wine or two), washbasin and w.c. and a door leading out to the pretty patio garden with Habitat garden furniture - an ideal spot for barbeques. Entered via the back garden, there's a useful utility room with space for walking boots and bicycles.
From the living room a door to a winding staircase leads to the first floor where you'll find two bedrooms, both with white-washed floor boards and natural fibre rugs. One has a double bed with contemporary en-suite shower room whilst the twin room has a single bed at each end, a sloping ceiling and a window overlooking the pretty patio garden.
The holiday cottage is positioned at the south end of the High Street, near the Brudenell Hotel. The beach is just a few yards away and a short stroll up the High Street brings you to Aldeburgh shops, cafes and restaurants.
All prices include bed linen and towels, gas and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.
The property is equipped with gas central heating, open fire in the living room, 15" flat screen TV and DVD player, CD player, BBQ, Smeg range cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine.
A travel cot is available but the number of people sleeping at the cottage should not exceed four, which includes babies and young children.
A narrow lane at the rear of the property is shared for parking with neighbours. A space is often available although cannot be guaranteed. On-road parking is also available.
