Welcome to Apple Cottage, our family and pet friendly holiday cottage near the Devon Coast
Just 2 miles from the sea at Slapton, in an area of natural beauty, sits our family holiday cottage. Recently refurbished, Apple cottage is a modern, cosy family holiday home ideal for a self catering break. Converted from an old barn the cottage keeps all of its rustic charm whilst having a modern feel. The Cottage sleeps 5 people and was converted from an old farm buildings belonging to Buckland Farm. The ground floor entrance is just next to the entrance to a half an acre of land with duck ponds and a BBQ area. Perfect for children and dogs to play and for adults to unwind, taking in the country air.

Our holiday cottage has all of the mod cons including a fully modern kitchen with all new fittings including microwave oven, cooker and refrigerator with freezer section. Apple cottage has central heating throughout, but in case of a particularly cold night, we provide a gas fire for added comfort. For entertainment indoors there is a new HI FI with CD player and Television with video. There is also a DVD player and access to SKY television.
Upstairs there is the south facing master bedroom which looks out over the courtyards hanging baskets and shaded picnic area. (An ideal place to have a meal or drink outside) The second bedroom in the large family cottage is a twin bedroom and it’s window overlooks the magnificent rolling hills of the Devonshire countryside. The third bedroom is a single bedroom, perfect for a child or an adult. The bathroom has a full size bath and power shower. As well as the usual sink, toilet and mirror, there is a shaving socket, an airing cupboard containing an ironing board and spare towels. All duvets are included and linen can be hired. A car is recommended and there is ample parking, mobile telephones will work in this area. Pets are welcome!
Our self catering family cottage location on the South Devon coast
Buckland Court is near Slapton, in Devon, on the South Devon Coast. The cottage is in a great location, being 10 miles from 3 different towns: Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Totnes. Take a trip to Dartmouth and have a ride on the traditional steam railway to Paignton. Or take a trip to Totnes and hop on the other old steam railway which runs to Buckfastleigh. If trains don’t do it for you then why not try a boat trip. There are many different trips available from Dartmouth including seal, bird and basking shark viewing excursions. Within a short drive is Slapton Lay Natural Nature Reserve where you can see all kinds of wildlife from badgers to bats! Also in Slapton there is Slapton Sands, an area where the military used to conduct training exercises and is the site of the famous Exercise Tiger and you can now see a Sherman Tank on the beach.
More locally there is the famous Pigs Nose pub with live music and a vibrant atmosphere. It is especially busy on summer weekends but there is always space on the village green, try the famous cider!
Amongst the other attractions and activities in the surrounding area of our family self catering holiday cottage is sailing and other waters ports available nearby as well as being close to a beach. We have fishing available nearby, there are also plenty of walking and cycling routes in the area.
