Welcome to our cottage on Loch Awe, Argyll
Enjoying a Southerly outlook along Loch Awe and beautiful spring and autumn sunsets, Barr-beithe Lower offers flexible accommodation for 5 people with zip-linked double or twin bed options in bedrooms 2 as well as a double room and a single bedroom.
The sunroom is a lovely place to relax and guests often enjoy watching ospreys catch their supper in the bay below.
Blarghour is a hill farm of 2,000 acres of traditional black-faced sheep and Luing cattle on which unrestricted walking may be enjoyed: to the shores of Loch Awe, the Blarghour waterfall and the ruined settlements along the old minor drove road above Barr-beithe. At Barr-beithe you are also spoiled with your own waterfall.
Fishing on Loch Awe (trout, salmon, char, pike and perch) is by permit only and permits are available at the farm.

Within easy reach during a days motoring are: Glencoe, Fort William and Ben Nevis, Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, Dunoon and beautiful Loch Eck, Crinan canal, Oban and the Isles of Mull, Iona & Staffa (fingal's cave), Islay, Gigha and Arran, while more locally one may visit Inveraray Castle, and an 18th Century jail. Crauchan Power Station and scenic Glen Orchy also merit a visit as do the many beautiful gardens of Crarae, Arduaine and Benmore which are open to the public.
For children, Inveraray Castle and Jail and the Sealife Centre are very enjoyable. Argyll Adventure close to Inveraray has a climbing wall, laser alley and trampolines as well as pony treking.
