Welcome to our Family Friendly Cottage in the New Forest
Bartley Barn occupies the main part of a detached barn style modern building which also contains the owners' office and garage. It is situated to the side of Bartley House where the owners, Bill and Jane Porter, live all year round. Support is therefore on hand when needed, but guests enjoy their own entrance well away from the house, and the main windows look out onto the Barn's private sheltered terrace which enjoys the sun from mid morning onwards in the summer months, and a large pleasant paddock.
Our cottage is located in East Boldre village. Historic Beaulieu and Lymington are located just 2 miles away.
Accommodation
* The main entrance opens into an open plan living and dining area. Dining table and six chairs, comfy sofas (one of which converts to an extra double bed when needed) and low tables, music system, TV with Freeview, books and games.
* Archway through to fitted kitchen with electric hob and oven, 1 1/2 bowl sink and drainer, dishwasher, integrated washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, table and 6 chairs, and French doors to deck with views over the owners' rear garden.
* From the living area a short corridor (with coat hooks) leads to the fully tiled shower room with WC, washbasin and large shower cubicle with powerful shower.
* Spiral staircase to centre of large open plan loft with restricted headroom which extends over the whole of the downstairs accommodation and the owners' garage. Three large velux windows look over the paddock to the forest beyond. The top of the staircase separates the two sleeping areas, each taking up half of the loft.
* Behind a semi partition wall the first spacious sleeping area has a double bed with bedside tables and clothes storage area with shelves and hanging space.
* From the top of hte stairs the other half of the loft contains a five foot double bed incorporating two separate 2' 6" mattresses and bedside tables with drawers. Plenty of space for the good quality folding beds which can be set out when needed, also a travel cot.
* We provide duvets, 2 pillows per person, bedlinen and towels, for all guests (including cot with bedding and linen when required).
Outside
* The private terrace is furnished with garden table, chairs, sun loungers and barbecue.
* Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome downstairs only, subject to a small extra charge.
* Outdoor storage is available for boat trailers by arrangement.
* Horses/ponies can be accommodated in the paddock at certain times of the year at an extra charge - please enquire.
