Welcome to Benavon Cottage, our Self Catering Holiday Accommodation in the Caringorm National Park, Scotland
Benavon is a traditional stone built cottage with loads of character situated in the village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Scottish Highlands on the Glenlivet Estate, in the Cairngorms National Park. Benavon is close by to all the village amenities and the ideal location for exploring the Scottish Highlands.
Our Self Catering Holiday Cottage's Features and Accommodation
The large airy sitting room is on the whole of the first floor. It overlooks our large well maintained garden with views to Delnabo Hill and the distant Cairngorm Mountains. Modern equipped open plan kitchen/dining area. Full electric cooker & microwave, electric toaster. George Foreman grill, electric kettle. Automatic washing machine, fridge freezer & dishwasher. Two bedrooms sleeping four guests are on the ground floor. One double bedded the other with an adult size bunk bed (Z-bed available). Duvets and electric blankets, hair drier and iron. Bathroom with spa bath/shower & electric shaving point. Electric storage heating.
Our Location in the Cairngorms National Park
Relax and enjoy many of the way marked walks on the Glenlivet Estate. Tomintoul is the ideal base for walking (there are many walks throughout the Glenlivet Estate), hill walking, mountain biking, skiing, bowling, fishing on the rivers Avon or Spey and pony trekking. We are only 5 minutes from The Lecht all year activity centre. The Lecht is an all year round activity centre with Tubing, Deval Karts, Quad bikes and a chairlift rising to 2,500tf to give superb views. We are surrounded by golf courses at Grantown-On-Spey, Nethy Bridge, Dufftown & Ballindalloch. We are in the heart of the "Malt Whisky Trail" with many famous distilleries to visit. Dufftown the home of Glenfiddich is only 18 miles away. Join the world famous Malt Whisky Trial or Castle Trial.
We are ideally situated for Salmon & Sea Trout fishing on the River Avon. The Avon is a major tributary of the world famous river Spey and offers excellent opportunity for your fly fishing holiday. Permits are available through the Tomintoul Angling Association at Tomintoul Post Office on a first come first served basis. Free fishing for Brown Trout on the Conglass Water is only a short walk from Benavon. A deep freeze facility is provided for the fish you wish to take back home. The Lochy Brown Trout Fishery is only 10 minutes drive from us and set in the beautiful River Avon valley.
