We wish you a fantastic time in our Ambleside Holiday Cottage:
Situated just above the small friendly town of Ambleside in the heart of the Lake District this traditional 200 year old stone holiday cottage will delight you. Perfect for walkers, small families and romantic couples it is the perfect place to unwind. There are fantastic walks over the fells or along the valley by the lakes - no need to take the car.
Ambleside has many top class restaurants, cafes, a cinema, museums, elegant shopping etc etc. The [open top in summer] bus will take you to other lakes and villages.
The house itself is traditionally furnished in natural materials - pine and leather. The top floor is made into a large double room with extra seating area. The middle floor has a twin room with another window seat overlooking Wansfell. The family bathroom is also on this floor. It has a large original enamel bath and a separate walk in shower. The ground floor is open plan with sky tv and dvd [plus books and games] in the lounge. The dining kitchen has full size gas cooker, microwave, toaster, iron and all utensils.
Birch Cottage is cosy and warm in any season with gas central heating plus a 'living flame' gas fire in the lounge. The perfect place to unwind after a winter's walk in the hills and snuggle up after a relaxing bath.
In summer the attractive enclosed garden comes into its own. Sit here and listen to the birds, the waterfall in the distance and watch the sun go down over Wansfell - Bliss!!
Price includes electricity, gas. £30 extra if you require linen and towels with beds made up.
Short breaks are available at our cottage from November to March - please telphone or email for details. The cottage is located in Ambleside, with cafes, pubs, restaurants, waterfall and Lake. It is an ideal base to explore the Lake District, at the head of Lake Windermere, near Rydal and Grasmere [famous for Wordsworth & gingerbread It is also close to the main lakeland fells, lakes and villages.
