Welcome to our Lake District Bed and Breakfast
Brathay Lodge offers quality bed and breakfast accommodation in Ambleside, Cumbria in the heart of the Lake District. It offers an informal atmosphere conducive to unwinding with high class guest accommodation to a quality hotel standard. We have luxurious four poster rooms, pet friendly rooms and family rooms available.
We aim to offer luxurious accommodation on a B&B basis, and our location means we have numerous local restaurants, bars and cafes within a short walk. As well as our own excellent facilities, our guests have use of the exclusive Langdale Country Club, where facilities include a 20 metre swimming pool and gym (subject to certain restrictions). Brathay Lodge is the ideal Lake District B&B for walkers, mountain bikers, golfers, families, pet owners, in fact anyone look for a break in the Lake District.
Our Lake District Bed and Breakfast Facilities
We have 19 bedrooms rooms available all with king size beds. These include standard, superior (pet friendly), twin, family rooms (sleeps 3-5) and four poster suites. All rooms are en-suite with Jacuzzi spa bath and shower over, tea & coffee making facilities and colour T.V's. The Four Poster suites overlook the front with wonderful Lakeland views across to the churchyard and fells beyond
We have a variety of facilities at the bed and breakfast to make your stay more enjoyable ranging from a WiFi network to drying facilities.
We are a non smoking establishment have several rooms which have their own external access to a covered seated area for those who wish to smoke. Pets are also welcome in these rooms as they have wooden flooring which enables us to thoroughly clean and remove all allergy inducing particles.
Leisure Facilities at our Lake District B&B
For the benefit of our guests we are members of the exclusive Langdale Country Club. This is a very pleasant scenic short drive away towards the Langdale valley. Guests may use these leisure facilities which include a 20 metre swimming pool and gym. Please note that these facilities are subject to availability and restrictions which the Country club may impose on us from time to time. There is also a beauty parlour where massages and general pampering is on offer.
There are tennis courts and a miniature golf directly opposite the bed and breakfast.
There are also various 9 & 18 hole golf courses within 35 minutes drive (golf discount vouchers available).
Our Lake District Location
Rothay Lodge bed and breakfast is located in the centre of Ambleside in the heart of Cumbria and the Lake District. We are a short walk to Lake Windermere and the lake steamers, and close to the main Lake District towns and villages, including Windermere, Keswick and Grasmere. Ambleside itself has a full range of bars, restaurants and cafes, as well as numerous shops and a cinema.
