Welcome to our Self catering Cottage in the Lake District
Broad Ing Cottage is part of a barn conversion of five properties in a courtyard setting on the fringe of the village of Tirril, which nestles on the edge of the Lake District National Park.
Accommodation
The cottage is deceptively spacious and is equipped to a very high standard with all rooms on one level. It comprises - a spacious lounge, a large dining kitchen, two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, house bathroom, a shower room and a utility room with drying area. The rear garden is fully paved and has container plants and a pleasant shrub border and overlooks open fields and the fells beyond. It catches the sun from early morning to late afternoon and is perfect for al-fresco dining as it is very private. There is a selection of garden furniture to assist your relaxation and help you to enjoy the peaceful location. Linen and towels are provided and high-chairs and travel cot are available by request. The cottage is non-smoking and sorry no pets are allowed.
Area/Location
Ullswater Lake with its' spectacular views is two miles from the cottage, making it ideally situated for walking and sailing. The market town of Penrith is three miles away and the village of Pooley Bridge is just two miles. Tirril boasts a traditional village pub - the Queens Head Inn - which has a welcoming log fire and a friendly atmosphere. It serves both bar and restaurant food and is a ten minute stroll from the cottage. It also has a cash machine facility and a shop. Local activities and interests include - walking, sailing, fishing, pony trekking, golfing, swimming, health spa, bird of prey centre, ostrich world, alpaca centre, lake steamers, heritage sites, historic houses and castle, museums and galleries, gardens, theatre, cinema, farmers markets, local crafts, pottery and jewellery and the Rheged centre. The cottage is a 15 minute drive from junction 40 on the M6 and 10 minutes from the A1/A66 at Penrith.
