Welcome to Brompton Lakes, a holiday destination where you can do as much, or as little, as you choose. Brompton Lakes is set in 26 acres with two lakes surrounded by woodland and open countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, and yet just 2 miles from the historic Yorkshire market town of Richmond. Each of our luxurious self catering eco-lodges has 3 bedrooms and sleep 6 people. They have been built using the latest green building techniques and stylish interior design. Each holiday home is designed and built to a high specification set in its own generous space with lake frontage – making Brompton Lakes Yorkshire Dales Lodges the perfect rural retreat. Ideal holiday accommodation for couples looking for a peaceful getaway or families with children; walking groups, cyclists and other outdoor types and, of course, angling enthusiasts.

Our Luxury Self Catering Accommodation in Yorkshire
We have 2 types of luxury self catering lodges available. All have 3 bedrooms and provide self catering for six. Our “Type A” lodges have a good sized kitchen with a generous open plan dining and living area. It also benefits from a utility room and three double bedrooms each with split link double beds. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room with the other two rooms utilising the family bathroom which also has a shower. Our “Type B” lodges are slightly bigger with an open plan living and dining area and three bedrooms each with split link double beds. The master bedroom has an en-suite with bath and separate shower whilst the family bathroom serves the other two bedrooms and has a bath with shower above.
All of our luxury lodges have wooden floors throughout, good-sized kitchen/dining areas with soft touch units and composite stone work surfaces and an open planning living space with flat-screen TV and audio system. A futuristic and eye-catching log burning heat storage stove forms the central point of the lounge area. The unusual rounded contours of the stove are more than just elegant design – the stove can be rotated to suit and a single load of firewood can provide up to six hours of heat with the stone cladding of the stove acting like a thermal storage heater.
Our Fishing Lakes
The two lakes are well stocked with coarse fish (mainly carp) and guests are very welcome to fish. We also have fishing rights on the River Swale and there is easy access to around ¾ mile of river bank where grayling, wild brownie, dace and perch can be caught.
The Green Credentials of Our Eco Friendly Log Cabins in Yorkshire
Our timber-framed log cabin style eco-lodges are made using sustainable materials. They are fully energy efficient, and we have installed the very latest geo-thermal heating systems extracting solar energy from the site’s natural resource, the lakes to provide both hot water and under floor heating.
Our Yorkshire Dales Location
Our self catering lodges are located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, directly on the banks of the River Swale and close to the Coast to Coast footpath. They are close to Richmond, in North Yorshire.
Brompton Lakes sits on the edge of Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to the tiny, picturesque village of Easby, famous for Easby Abbey. Richmond itself is a charming Georgian market town best-known for its impressive 11th century castle as well as being an eclectic melting pot of historic buildings, cobbled streets and ancient treasures. You’ll find a good choice of pubs and plenty of places to eat, as well as shops to stock up on essentials and gifts, and of course, miles and miles of the best walking and mountain bike country in England.
