Our Fort William Scottish Highlands Location
Situated in the forests along the river Spean, Burnbank Lodges are only 9 miles north of the city of Fort William. So while retaining its secluded location, all amenities are only a short drive away. Nearby there is the Nevis Range ski resort, the UK’s newest and highest Ski resort, where skiing is excellent in the winter, and summer months bring excellent walks and climbs up Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Local amenities are only a short walk away in the Village of Spean Bridge, including shops and cafés. Fly fishing is very popular on the river Spean, and fishing tackle is available for hire, as well as fly fishing lessons for beginners. Horse trekking, golfing, cruises on the lochs, boating and water sports, walking, climbing, cycling, fishing, skiing and snow boarding are all available within driving distance. Why not try your hand at kayaking at Skyak Adventures, or take a trip to Dive and Sea the Hebrides, where you can take a very different look at the area! Both of these attractions are on the nearby and beautiful Isle of Skye. Take a drive to the iconic Eilean Donan Castle for a taste of Scottish History. There are also countless opportunities to take boat rides to and fro the various islands along the highland coast.
There are internationally coveted mountain-biking tracks on Aonach Mor in the Nevis Range for both amateur and experienced mountain bikers. An abundance of wildlife resides in the surrounding area including otters, herons, buzzards, and even the occasional osprey or deer at the right times of year. Skye, Oban, Mull, Inverness, Glencoe, Ben Nevis and the Caledonian Canal are all very popular attractions in the Scottish Highlands and are very close to our Self Catering Holiday Lodges.
