Breakfast in your conservatory, explore the glorious Borders countryside, the characterful towns and stunning coast, then relax in the superb comfort of your cottage at Burnbrae.
We have three cottages, each with one bedroom, lovingly created within our farm steading. Each is light and airy, spacious, generously equipped, comfortable accommodation for two. Extra beds available. Heating throughout. All of the rooms are on the same level, with level access from the large, private car park. Cars can approach close to the main entrance of each cottage for loading.
Relax in your south-facing conservatory, or in a recliner on the patio, watching the wildlife, admire the garden, walk in our fields and along the riverside or snuggle-up in front of your cosy log-burning stove.
Each cottage has a living room with ample space for comfortable seating and also dining. The separate kitchens are well equipped with fridge freezer, hob and combination oven. In the bedroom Thairn has an extra long king-size bed with space for an optional single bed, Begrum has either a 6' wide bed or twin beds with a bed settee in the living room and Mungo's Well has either a 6' wide bed or twin beds. The bathrooms in Begrum and Mungo's Well have a shower over the bath and Thairn has a separate shower and bath. There is a separate laundry with washing machine and tumble drier for the use of guests. We again scored 100% (5 star excellent) for cleanliness and management when inspected by Visit Scotland.
Within 40 minutes drive of Edinburgh, fishing villages, superb coastal scenery, Borders' towns, Cheviot and Ettrick hills. Ideal for visiting the wealth of abbeys, gardens and stately homes which are found nearby (Floors Castle and Mellerstain are just a few minutes away). Just 5 km from Kelso with its splendid square, abbey ruins and individual shops and a wide selection of places to eat.
The quiet country roads are a joy for motorists and cyclists alike. More adventurous mountain bikers can test their nerves on the Glentress trails. For the less daring, the Borders offers a wide variety of golf courses, fishing, horse-riding, walking - from strenuous hikes up the Cheviot to peaceful strolls amongst the splendid Borders scenery - or admiring the textiles, pottery, woodwork and paintings on show in the numerous studios and galleries to be found within the area.....and you can return to relax in the peace of Burnbrae.
The owners live on site and are pleased to help guests with information and other assistance. Free internet access.
We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you to Burnbrae.
