Our newly completed 'South Wing' offers beautiful accomodation, we have 2 four poster rooms, 1 twin/triple and a Family suite with own entrance and patio, all are rooms ensuite. You will be pampered at Carndaisy and served only the very best of delicious treats,homemade of course including a wee dram of whiskey!! Only 12 miles from the Highland capital of Inverness, Easter Urray is an excellent base to explore the Scottish Highlands. Inverness, Capital of the Highlands has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. In Beauly(next village) every Thursday night, the local pipeband and highland dancers perform in the square.
To the East: Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Cawdor Castle, the seaside resort of Nairn with sandy beaches, Culbin Forest, Brodie Castle, the Findhorn Foundation, not to mention historic Elgin as well as the Malt Whisky Trail. To the South: Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle (we are only 15 miles from the Nessie centres at Drumadrochit). To the North: Dunrobin Castle, Caithness and day trips to Orkney. To the West: take the A832 road across country and into the mountains, following the famously scenic railway line to Plockton and Kyle of Lochalsh. Visit picturesque Eilean Donan Castle and the romantic Isle of Skye.
Carndaisy House is close to the Glen Ord Distillery which is open daily for guided tours. There are many other whisky distilleries in the region, not to mention the Highland Wineries at nearby Moniack Castle. They produce preserves and sauces, country wines and liqueurs - all made from local produce. Guided tours and free tastings are available!
The Black Isle is well worth visiting to see ancient Pictish stones, the Wildlife Park, historic Cromarty and the dolphins in the Moray Firth. Boat trips are also available from Inverness and Loch Ness. The village of Beauly is well worth a visit. People always want to stay longer at Carndaisy House and almost all of our visitors return!
