Cockle Kitty is a perfect base for exploring the beautiful Scottish Borders and the Northumberland coast. It is so comfortable you may not wander too far! Relax on the sumptuous leather sofa or the garden recliners. Enjoy a game of tennis on the new all weather tennis court. Walk along the banks of the river Eden, through woods - catch a few leaves and make a wish! Fish, paddle or picnic. Enjoy bird watching including king fisher and barn owl. Look out for deer and otter. Pick seasonal vegetables including asparagus and strawberries. Enjoy a days racing at Kelso, golf on the lovely and quiet golf courses, shop in Kelso where you will find unique and special things to buy! Dine in one of the many eating places where they make the most of fresh local produce.

It has a comfortable sitting room/dining room with sky TV, a sumptuous leather sofa beside the wood burner and large table to enjoy meals sourced from the wonderful butchers and fish shop in Kelso. The Hemel arch window allows the morning sun to bathe the room in light. Starry skies are a delight also. The kitchen is well equipped and has a door onto the decking where you can relax on the new recliners and light up the barbeque and enjoy a magical view.

Guests, without charge, can use the new all-weather tennis court, below Plum Braes Barn. Coaching can be organised for a fee, depending on size of party. Racquets are available. The Scottish Borders is renowned for salmon fishing - Kelso boasts the world famous Junction Pool on the river Tweed. There is also good brown trout fishing on the river Tweed and its tributaries. The Eden is one tributary that meanders through Cliftonhill and is a peaceful spot for catching grayling or trout. Cycling is a pleasure on the quiet border roads whether following the Sustrans national Cycleway, the Tweed Cycleway or making up your own route.
