Cosy Cottage is a detached pet friendly cottage in Marton, near Ulverston, in Cumbria, the Lake District. The holiday cottage was originally 2 old miners cottages used by the old Iron Ore mines in the area.
The self-catering cottage sleeps 5 people has 3 bedrooms. Towels and bed linen are included. The cottage kitchen is well equipped with a washer, drier, microwave and electric hob and oven. There is a tastefully furnished lounge and a beautiful conservatory at the front of the house which benefits from all day sunshine. There is also ample parking and a large garden area mostly grass stretching to 1/3 of an acre with a BBQ.
Our self catering cottage provides an ideal base to explore the beauty of the south lakes, and is close to many wonderful attractions including the South Lakes Wild Animal Park (just 5 minutes away), Furness Abbey, Furness Owls, The Dock Museum. It is also close to the Ulverston canal, which provides a level walk opposite the Shell garage on the A590. If you walk the full length you will reach the sea. There is a restaurant and out side seating where you can sit and take in the surroundings
Also worth a visit is Roe Island, on the causeway from Rampside, which also has a life boat house, which you can look around when it is open to the public. You can also take a boat trip across the water to the famous Piel Island. The Island has a ruin of a castle a pub and 6 houses and is well worth a trip.
