Our caravan is situated in the small village of Glenfinnan. The village itself is quiet, beautiful and a country lovers' paradise. The "Couthy" Caravan is within walking distance of two hotels with in-house restaurants and bars, two cafes, a bus stop and a train station. The caravan itself looks onto the garden, which on a good day, can be hold to all sorts of animals: birds, hens (from next door), cats and the odd, occasional stag! Just a short walk away is the loch, which on warm days is good for swimming. Otherwise, Glenfinnan has scenic walks, daily cruises and a visitor centre for attractions.
The Jacobite Steam Train passes through the village twice a day and it's very impressive to see, as it passes over the Glenfinnan Viaduct. (Think: Harry Potter). Also to see would be Glenfinnan Monument, which represents the point where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised the Standard at Glenfinnan for The Jacobites on 19th August 1745. The Glenfinnan Highland Games are on the Saturday nearest this date every year and are well worth a look. Close by is Fort William (17 miles), the Outdoor Capital for the UK and the home of Ben Nevis, highest mountain in Britain: Rock/Ice Climbing (and the Mountain Film Festival every April), Mountain Biking (and the Mountain Biking World Cup every June), Canoeing, Swimming, Cruises and Walks. Fort William also has a small number of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars and cafes.
Our accommodation in Lochaber, Inverness-Shire
Our caravan offers four-person accommodation, as a self-catering holiday let. The caravan has one double bedroom and two bunks. The Caravan is all found: gas and electricity are all included in the price, linen is provided plus washing and drying facilities available on request from the main house. Two car spaces are available for parking. Internet is available for a small extra charge. At £30.00 per night, this let is a bargain for all those not going away this year. A discounted let for one week comes at £200.00. For longer lettings, please ask for more details. Pre-booking is essential, although late bookings are welcome (if applicable). Deposit for one night is £10, to be paid ahead of arrival. More than one night, deposit is £20 for 2 nights, £30 for 3 etc.
Please Note: In October-April, unless already booked, there will be a £5 heating supplement per night stayed in the caravan, to a maximum of £30 per week. Thank you for looking at Couthy Caravan!
