Welcome to Easter Inveruglas
A former croft constructed of stone, with an enclosed garden. Set over 900 feet above sea level, it has spectacular views over the Monadliath mountains, the River Spey and Insh Marshes Bird Reserve to the front, and moorland and forests to the rear. Inveruglas itself is set high above the village of Insh and comprises a scattering of properties approached by a half-mile private road leading from the very scenic B970 which runs on the eastern side of the river and marshes, between Kingussie and Kincraig. For walking and birdwatching, the location is ideal. Over 40 bird species have been seen in one week at the cottage, including merlins, blackcaps, whinchats and crested tits. Birds visiting garden include great grey shrike (April 2010). Visitors to this cottage report that pine martens come right up to conservatory french windows. Red squirrels live nearby. Waxwings visited Inveruglas in 2010 and 2011.
