Welcome to our Guest House B&B in the Cairngorms, Scottish Highlands
Fraoch Lodge is a traditional Scottish granite building, owned and run by Andy & Rebecca. Our bed and breakfast offers a high level of hospitality and usually sit with our guests if they join us for evening meals. The Lodge is designed to be a home away from home. It is decorated with mountain pictures and also souvenirs of our travels abroad. The lounge has an open fire and the dining room is heated by a solid fuel stove. The rest of our heating is supplied mainly from our Biomass boiler, fueled with wood pellets. There is no TV on the premises so usually the atmosphere is lively as guests entertain themselves by getting to know each other and chatting about their day.
We also run a guided walking business. Our clients are booked on fully inclusive packages where they have full board and accommodation at Froach Lodge. They find their stay is enhanced by meeting other guests visiting the area.
Our guests are mainly interested in the outdoor activities in the area, especially walking and mountain biking/cycling - though people come to stay for all kinds of reasons. Andy is a qualified mountain leader and is usually on hand to offer advice on walking routes if required.
Our Cairngorms Location
We are based in the quiet, scenic village of Boat of Garten, famed for its golf course and fishing rights on the River Spey. The area is renowned for the wildlife and walking possibilities at all levels. The RSPB Garten Woods reserve with its Osprey hide, open early for Capercaillie viewing in April and May, is a great attraction in the area. The walking ranges from short forest and loch walks to high level expeditions across the Cairngorms National Park.
