The whole estate of 50 acres is located 1 mile from Bideford and has extensive views from the grounds over the River Torridge. Visitors have use of the grounds of the main house which include a hard tennis court and 11 acres of woodland.
The holiday cottage sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms, and has a large sitting room with open fire, TV and DVD player with Digi box and WiFi internet access. Upstairs there is a double room (ensuite), with small sofa bed (th window is placed so that you can lie in bed and look out into the garden!). There is then a single room with bunk beds and two further twin bedrooms. There is a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a further cloakroom downstairs. There is a private garden outside with barbeque and seating.
At Hallsannery we attempt to minimise environmental impact where possible. Recycling and composting facilities are provided and all light bulbs are low energy. There is no tumble drier, but ample under cover washing line space is provided plus emergency drying if we have lots of rain! There is a dishwasher.

Location
The surfing and sandy beach of Westward Ho is 3 miles away. This beach can have good surf and is much less crowded than the further afield and more well know beaches of Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe which are approximately 30 mins drive away.
Bideford is an excellent centre for touring with shops, restaurants, the Kathleen and May and Burton Art Gallery. The boat to Lundy Island sails regularly from Bideford.
The South West coastal path can be accessed at Westward Ho! and various points along the coast and there are many local walks we recommend.
The Tarka Trail has 30 miles of cycling through countryside and estuary, there is an entrance half a mile from Hallsannery. If you are feeling energetic, cycle up the Torridge valley to Yarde Orchard cafe, 4 miles South of Torrington, or Fremington Quay cafe along the Taw estuary. Bike hire is available in Bideford, Torrington,Fremington, Barnstaple and Braunton.
The fishing villages of Appledore and Instow, with its safe sandy beach, are both great places for a meal or a wander.

For bird lovers, Isley marsh RSPB reserve is at Yelland on the Taw estuary.
