Dates still available in November & December 2011 including Christmas & Hogmanay
Welcome to our self catering cottage in Ross-Shire
Hamilton Cottage is a detached sandstone cottage ideal for couples looking for a rural hideaway. Set on one level, Hamilton Cottage comprises a double bedroom, shower room and an open plan living area where there is a modern, discrete kitchen. The luxurious leather sofa in the living room converts to a double bed if required.
Our cottage's style is clean and contemporary whilst retaining the feel of the traditional cottage at its heart with deep set windows, vaulted wood ceiling and wood floors. There are independent electric radiators in addition to solid fuel central heating and a controllable hot water system. The open fire is lovely for those chilly evenings and cosy winter nights. Outside there is a small area of garden leading to a gravelled parking/seating area. Adjoining this is a good sized grassed area sheltered by trees where there are a table and chairs for two to relax (barbeque also available).
High quality bed linen and towels are supplied and you will be greeted with a welcome pack consisting of everything you will need to make yourself at home right away including a fresh loaf of our traditionally slow-fermented, organic home made bread and half a dozen eggs from our own free range, organically kept hens or ducks (depending on your preference!). Change over day is mormally Saturday. Guests can fly to Inverness from various Airports in England and Scotland, where a car can be hired or take a bus or train. The owners will collect guests from the bus or train (from Invergordon, Alness or Dingwall) for a charge should this be required.
Our Location
Hamilton Cottage's location in Arabella Holdings means that it is very quiet (apart from the occasional sound of happy hens and their Rooster) with no traffic on the single track roads around it, other than the very few residents of the holdings (this does include a working farm - so there may be an occasional tractor!) Our cottage is only six miles from Invergordon and 30 miles north of Inverness, not far off the main A9 through the Highlands.
