Welcome to our stunning Self-Catering holiday cottages nestled deep in the Scottish highlands. Laikenbuie is a beautiful farm croft near Inverness, where you can have all the relaxation you could want and still have many things to do and see. Located in the spectacular Hiddenglen, four miles inland from Nairn, our self catering holiday homes provide some of the most pleasant surroundings in the area. You are more than likely to see a lot of wildlife during your stay, including rabbits, birds of prey, roe deer, and even foxes or wild cats. Also, Hiddenglen is home to many wild flowers in the bog meadows in the surrounding area.
Our Self-Catering Holiday Homes Features and Accommodation
On Laikenbuie Croft, we have four different types of Self Catering accommodation: Lodge, Chalet, Caravan and Camping Site. Our two lodges (Treetops and Kestrel’s Nest) provide luxury four star accommodation and sleep 6 in two twin rooms and a double room. There are two bathrooms, one of these being the en-suite for the mater double bedroom. A large living space gives guests a place to relax. For sunnier days the balcony has incredible views across the Hiddenglen area, and the open plan kitchen has all the modern appliances.
Rowan Tree, our superb self-catering Chalet, sleeps up to five guests in one double room, one twin room and one single room. The open plan living, dining and kitchen areas give the chalet a very communal feel, perfect for families. The kitchen has all the modern appliances needed, and there is a washing machine in the small porch area. Patio doors open out from the sitting room, onto a well maintained patio are with excellent views over the loch.
Our large modern static caravan sleeps six in one double bedroom, one with 6ft bunks and one double pullout bed in the dining area. It is very well equipped and tourist board inspected, with all necessary appliances and a colour television. The kitchen area is large and modern, with a beautiful wood finish.
The camping circle is perfect for those looking for cheap and simple accommodation, and has a turf roofed cooking shelter with a gas ring and a “hole in the ground”, and there is also a cold tap nearby.

Our Scottish Highlands Location
Although hidden deep in the Scottish highlands, there is plenty to do and see in the vicinity of our Self-Catering Holiday Homes. There are 14 golf courses within a mere hours drive, as are the city of Inverness and the spectacular and famous Loch Ness where guests can try some Nessie Spotting! There are an abundance of mountain biking trails, and plenty of scenic walks and mountains to climb within a short drive. There is also Loch Garten, the ancestral home of the Osprey in Scotland. Don’t forget to take a trip to the infamous site of the Battle of Culloden Moor where the experience is now even more exciting with its new visitor centre.
The nearby Cairngorm mountain range has many exciting things to do, including an excellent visitor centre, The Lecht Ski Resort and huge amounts of walks and climbs for both experienced and amateur mountaineers. There are also several castles in the area and the Speyside Distilleries Whisky Trail passes through the area. If city living is more for you, then the city of Inverness is very close, very vibrant and has all the things you could want a city to have, including a fantastic leisure centre, airport and an exciting night life.
