Welcome to our Luxury Lodges in the Lake District
High Borrans is a tiny settlement well off the beaten track in the fells between Troutbeck and Kentmere, very close to Windermere, and the cosy timber lodges provide the perfect holiday accommodation for those romantic breaks away from it all. In a quiet location, High Borrans Lodges are only a very short drive from the main access road into the Lake District (A591). Windermere, with all its restaurants, shops and other amenities, is barely 10 minutes’ drive away, and the M6 motorway can be easily reached within 20 minutes.
The Lodges are available for whole weeks or longer, for weekends and for mid-week stays.
High Borrans Lodges are Nordic-style timber lodges built to the highest specification to provide cosy and romantic self-catering accommodation for couples, The bright and airy design and clean lines are complemented by wonderful real wool carpets and luxurious soft furnishings in warm country tones.
Accommodation: the entrance hallway leads to the living room, with its comfortable seating, stove-effect fire, television and DVD player. The area is lit by tasteful wall lighting and a table lamp. The dining area is equipped with dining table and chairs, and an integrated radio with MP3 connectivity.
There is one bedroom with a high-quality contemporary style kingsize bed, and a large walk-in wardrobe. The luxuriously appointed bathroom comprises a big walk-in shower, WC , “his and hers” washbasins and towel warmer. The kitchen is very well appointed with electric oven and gas hob, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer, in addition to the all the usual equipment.
There is central heating throughout, complemented by the stove-effect fire in the lounge. All gas and electricity within the lodge is included in the rental price, as are bed linen and towels. Washing, drying and ironing facilities are provided in a separate, adjacent building with a key lock facility.
Outside, each lodge has its own private deck and surrounding area of grassland, with private parking for a car. We can also provide safe housing on the farm for mountain bikes, and stabling and turnout for horses. We also accept dogs (max. two per lodge).
