Enjoy a relaxing stay in our Grade II listed 18th century farmhouse in the Cornish countryside, easily accessible from the A30 and close to the Devon border. Our emphasis is very much on comfort and quality, with supremely comfortable beds, immaculately clean en-suite shower rooms and a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. A tranquil and scenic place to stay at the end of your day spent exploring the spectacular Cornish coastline with wonderfully clean beaches or perhaps the pretty North Devon coast with its quaint seaside towns.
Our 4 star centrally-heated double bedrooms offer king sized beds, ensuite modern shower rooms, tea & coffee making facilities, TV & DVD, alarm clock radios and private patios. Each room is accessed via its own front door allowing maximum privacy and comfort.
Breakfast is served in our traditional cottage dining room which retains many original 18th century features including moorland fireplace and beamed ceiling. Local and organic produce and home-grown tomatoes are served whenever possible with a choice of full English breakfast, vegetarian option, smoked fish and scrambled eggs, porridge or lighter options such as cereals, dried fruit compote, yoghurt or bagels.
We are close to both Dartmoor and the lesser trod but no less dramatic Bodmin Moor with challenging walks and good cycling routes. There are two golf courses within a fifteen-minute drive: Trethorne and Launceston Golf Club, and St Mellion is 20 miles away (roughly half an hour’s drive). Coarse fishing is available at Hidden Valley within a few minutes by car and the National Trust historic houses and gardens of Cotehele and Lanhydrock are nearby. We are perfectly placed for a daytrip to Eden or the Lost Gardens of Heligan, allowing you to leave behind the hustle and bustle when you return to rest. Our garden, with views towards Dartmoor and across the Kensey Valley towards North Petherwin, is a great place to relax and recharge your batteries.
