Set over 900 feet above sea level, Inveruglas is home to red squirrels, pine martens, deer & many birds, including crested tits. Visiting birds include great grey shrike (April 2010) and waxwings (October 2010). There are spectacular views over Insh Marshes Bird Reserve, the River Spey, moorland and forests. Inveruglas is high up behind Insh village and comprises a scattering of a dozen properties. It is approached by a private road leading up from the very scenic B970 road which runs on the eastern side of the river and the marshes, between Kingussie and Kincraig. For walking, cross-country skiing, and nature-watching Inveruglas is ideal.
