Welcome to Knipefold Barn, a superb holiday cottage near Hawkshead in the Lake District. The Visit Britain 5 star rated cottage provides luxury self catering accommodation for 5 people, and pets are welcome. The spacious cottage has been lovingly and expertly converted and now offers a range of excellent facilities combined with original features to offer a luxurious venue for a Lake District holiday. It offers excellent panoramic views towards the Hawkshead fells, in a location at the heart of the Lakes – ideal for luxury family holidays.
Lake District Luxury Cottage Facilities
Knipefold Barn was converted in 2007 to provide hugely spacious self catering accommodation for five people.
Entry to the holiday cottage is through a set of unusual oak doors into a large hall with slate floor and under-floor heating. There is a large utility room with Washer, Dryer, wine cooler and plenty of storage space and hooks for coats etc. The single bedroom is on the ground floor as well, with pretty bedding and oak panelling. A lift on the ground floor is available for less able guests, please ask when booking.
An oak staircase leads to the first floor with has two Double bedrooms, one with superking 6ft bed and ensuite bathroom, the other with king size bed and ensuite shower room. Both have flat screen tv’s and night time lighting so you can find your way in the small hours. A separate toilet and shower room is also on the first floor.
The top floor is huge and all open plan with a good-sized kitchen and breakfast bar, dining area and living area, retaining lots of original features and oak beams. The polished oak floors and high ceiling with skylights give a real feeling of space, while the ‘Stressless’ leather furniture will keep you comfy while looking at the view. The original beams span this room so some of our taller guests may have to duck occasionally or risk a sore head.
Well behaved pets and dogs are welcome at this luxury holiday cottage in the Lake District.
Lake District Cottage Location
The holiday cottage is situated near Hawkshead, in the Lake District National Park. This area is one of the Lakes best kept secrets, near Hawkshead and in the small hamlet of Knipefold, close to Outgate. The cottage Offers miles of views towards the Hawkshead fells and surrounding countryside. This superb location makes the ideal base to explore the many attractions and things to do in the Lake District.
