Keswick itself is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District as well as the beautiful Cumbrian coast. There are many attractions and things do in Keswick itself, and it is also close to the other main towns of the Lake District, including Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. Keswick has much to offer visitors, with many great attractions, and it's proximity to the beautiful lake of Bassenthwaite. Other attractions nearby are the Beatrix Potter Gallery, and the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis. There is also Trotter’s World of Animals, a great fun day out for all the family!
If you wish to explore the Lake District a bit more off the beaten path then where better to do so than the stunning hills of Skiddaw, where, after a gentle climb, some of the most breath taking views in England awaits you.
Derwentwater is the most beautiful of lakes with its rocky coves and islands, but just a short drive away are the other lakes, such as Thirlmere, Buttermere or Crummock Water or the great Lakeland mountains of Great Gable, Scafell or Helvellyn.
