The delightful Victorian property is within a twenty minute walk of Keswick and the disused railway line provides an ideal footpath away from the traffic. Local reliable taxis charge approximately £2.60 for the short trip to Keswick. It wouldn’t be a holiday at the Lakes if there wasn’t a selection of water sports and these are available nearby, as well as horse riding and other equestrian activities. There is also tennis available in close proximity to the B&B and the guest house is perfectly situated for cycling, mountain biking and walking.
Keswick has much to offer visitors, with many great attractions, and it's proximity to the beautiful lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. The majestic Skiddaw is also close by.
It also has a great range of places to eat and drink, with one of the best being Siennas Bar and Steakhouse Grill. This is a popular restaurant/bar showing major sporting events on its widescreen TV’s and with a good selection of wines and cosy corners to enjoy them in.
A tranquil moment on the footbridge over the River Greta is a welcome respite for the less active to enjoy the splendid mountain scenery surrounding Keswick, offering up stunning views of the Cumbrian countryside. Fitz Park in Keswick on the banks of the river is also within walking distance from Laurel Bank, here you can relax in the colourful gardens or, if you are a cricket fan, take in a local match. There is also a playground for the youngsters, or swimming and exercise facilities for the whole family in the Keswick Leisure Centre. Stroll on for a further five minutes and you are in Keswick town centre with an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants and sports and leisure facilities for all ages. Four miles east of Laurel Bank Bed & Breakfast is the Golf Club at Threlkeld Hall; Keswick an 18 Hole parkland course with stunning Lake District views of the surrounding Cumbrian mountains.
