Welcome to our Self catering cottage in Northumberland
Lonnenend has been lovingly renovated to make a stunning property. A porch with original tiled floor leads into a well equipped living room with comfortable settees, and the original wood-block floor. The pulpit is used as a room divider for the kitchen area where there is a four ring stove with oven, a microwave, toaster, kettle etc.
Upstairs are two well-insulated bedrooms with the original beams and a small shower-room. These rooms all have conservation velux windows.
The gardens are well-planted with many seating areas and secret corners. There are wonderful views across the valley towards Heavenfield and you can walk down to Paradise at the North Tyne river.
The Old Church Cottages are well placed for exploring Hadrian’s Wall (Brunton Turret is just 2 miles away) or for visiting Alnwick Castle and Gardens. There are many castles in our area and a lot of Roman Sites. There are beautiful gardens to see and the historic town of Hexham with its Medieval Abbey is 6 miles away.
Hexham is well served for shopping, having large supermarkets as well as small local shops and fascinating antique shops.
