Welcome to Scottish Highland B&B near Fort Augustus and Loch Ness
Set right in the heart of the Great Glen, our lovely rural B&B is the perfect setting for a quiet few days get away, or an ideal base for exploring all the activities the area has to offer. Our B&B has several rooms of varied sizes to offer, so you can choose exactly what you want, and a hearty breakfast is served every morning. There are wonderful views of forest and mountains from the garden and guest lounge and for the more active, plenty of local walks not far from the front door.
Our Fort Augustus B&B Accommodation and Features
We have three rooms available here at Mavisburn B&B, a family room, a double room, and a single room. The family room has a large double bed, two single beds, an en suite toilet, a television, DVD player, and tea/coffee making facilities. The double room has a large Double bed, en suite toilet, television, DVD player and tea/coffee making facilities. The single room has a large single bed, sole use of a bathroom directly across the landing, television, DVD player, and tea/coffee making facilities. All the rooms are very well decorated, are large and spacious, and are perfect for a relaxing nights sleep. They all have ample storage space and various necessary items of furniture. Every morning an excellent breakfast is prepared for you, and you may request a packed lunch to take out on day trips with you. The large communal room has plenty of seating and excellent views of the surrounding forests, fields and mountains.
Our Highland B&B’s Location near Fort Augustus and Loch Ness
Mavisburn is set within the heart of an idyllic forest, with beautiful views of mountains and farm land, so is very secluded and quiet, yet is within easy reach of Fort Augustus village and all amenities the area has to offer. The village of Fort Augustus is well known for Thomas Telford’s Caledonian Canal, which runs right through the centre of the village. The canal has 5 locks, and is used to get to Loch Ness. There is an interesting museum about the history of the canal on the towpath next to the canal itself. The village also has a variety of shops, restaurants, cafés, and also a petrol station and gift shop.
Under an hours drive away are the large towns of Inverness and Fort William, where you can find the business and amenities of a large city with the friendliness of a small highland village. There are swimming pools and cinemas and all sorts of things that you might need while on holiday, and all within a short drive of our B&B. the area around our highland B&B is perfectly naturally suited to a variety of outdoor activities, such as walking, cycling, climbing, mountain biking, fishing, water sports and other such activities.
